Our Mission

To help every child achieve their potential

Our school relies on a community partnership of parents, teachers, and volunteers to provide our students with quality programs that complement their education and help them reach their potential. The Gators PTA (Parent Teacher Association) group is committed to supporting our teachers and staff while encouraging family engagement with thoughtful programs that help our students thrive.

We are a non-profit organization registered as part of Region 9 of the Washington State PTA, #9 7 20. For more information about the common PTA mission please visit PTA.org

  • Improve communications to PTA members and the entire school community to increase interest, involvement, and understanding of our PTA organization.

  • Strengthen the partnership between the PTA and staff at Grass Lake Elementary.

  • Further develop programs in the works, such as the Nature Program and IDEA Project.

While our PTA events may need to be structured a little differently this year due to new health guidelines, the Grass Lake PTA is still committed to supporting the educational, social, and health and safety needs of our students.  For more information please visit our COVID-19 resources page.

To recover from a challenging year, our PTA is considering some new adaptations:

• Fully funding the Accelerated Reader (AR) program, which includes online access.

• Implementing a new fundraising approach that includes a product drive and a spring Fun Run.

• Exploring how to host social events such as the PTA Boo Bash within new health guidelines.

• Planning a spirit wear sale in the fall, a Book Fair in December, and Gators Give in October.

• Developing a Nature Program on campus for outdoor learning, calming, and re-centering.

We embrace the National PTA core values: collaboration, commitment, diversity, respect, and accountability.

We follow SWAMP expectations:  Show respect, Work together,

Accept responsibility, be Prompt & prepared.

We contribute to a climate that is inclusive and welcoming to all our students, families and community members.

Women Holding Hands

We work together with community organizations, parents, and school staff to provide our students the resources they need to succeed.
