Our Mission

To help every child achieve their potential

Our school relies on a community partnership of parents, teachers, and volunteers to provide our students with quality programs that complement their education and help them reach their potential. The Gators PTA (Parent Teacher Association) group is committed to supporting our teachers and staff while encouraging family engagement with thoughtful programs that help our students thrive.

We are a non-profit organization registered as part of Region 9 of the Washington State PTA, #9 7 20. For more information about the common PTA mission please visit PTA.org

  • Strengthen the partnership between the PTA and staff at Grass Lake Elementary.

  • Further develop programs to implement when students return to campus, such as the nature space and IDEA Project.

While school will look very different this year due to COVID-19, the Grass Lake PTA is still committed to supporting the educational, social, and health and safety needs of our students.  For more information please visit our COVID-19 resources page.

In preparing for a unique year, our PTA is considering some new adaptations:

• Fully funding the Accelerated Reader (AR) program, which includes online access.

• Discussing options such as distance learning kits for students and additional teacher stipends.

• Budgeting for possible health and safety considerations such as: hand sanitizers, wipes, masks,  thermometers, transparent desk dividers and more.

• Exploring how to translate social events such as the PTA Boo Bash into a virtual experience.

• Planning a spirit wear sale in the fall, a virtual Book Fair in December, and revamping Gators Give.

• Developing a nature space on campus for outdoor learning, calming, and recentering.

We embrace the National PTA core values: collaboration, commitment, diversity, respect, and accountability.

We follow SWAMP expectations:  Show respect, Work together,

Accept responsibility, be Prompt & prepared.
