Outdoor Explore
The Outdoor Explore program offers hands-on learning in nature in our very own Nature Space, and aims to connect students with the natural world, fostering curiosity and environmental stewardship. Students explore diverse ecosystems, engage in activities like identifying species and conducting experiments, and develop critical thinking and teamwork skills. This program empowers students to become lifelong learners and environmental advocates.
Art Docents
The Art Docent Program is a dynamic initiative led by dedicated parent volunteers that enriches the art education experience for our students. Students are exposed to a wide range of artistic techniques, styles, and artists. Docents lead hands-on activities, such as painting, drawing, sculpting, and collage-making, allowing students to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills. We encourage parents to actively participate in their child's education by volunteering as docents. It offers a wonderful opportunity for parents to share their love for art and contribute to the school community. School Spirit
We love to celebrate our vibrant school spirit! Our students enjoy special events at assemblies, popcorn Fridays, pizza with the principal for students of the month, Fitness Friday running events, and more! We believe school spirit events are essential in creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere. They foster a sense of belonging, encourage active participation, and strengthen the bonds between students, staff, and families. Book Fair & Literacy Programs
Twice a year we host a Book Fair to celebrate reading, promote literacy, and engage families in a fun and interactive way. This event encourages a love for reading and supports our school's commitment to literacy. The Book Fair serves as a fundraiser, with a portion of the proceeds going towards enhancing our library resources and promoting literacy initiatives throughout the year. One of the highlights of the Book Fair is the exciting "Bingo for Books" evening event. Families are invited to join in a lively game of bingo, where the prizes are none other than books themselves! This fun activity brings families together, fostering a love for reading and creating lasting memories.
Fundraising
A strong community and active participation are key to achieving our fundraising goals. Fundraising and volunteer hours go directly to support the programs and events that benefit your students and our Grass Lake community. This year, we will have an exciting Fun Run, an online auction, restaurant takeovers, and more! We invite you to join us in our fundraising endeavors. Whether you participate in the Fun Run, bid at our Auction, support our Restaurant Takeovers, or make a Direct Donation, your contribution will make a difference in the lives of our students. Together, let's create a brighter future for our school community and empower our students to reach their full potential.
Family Events
Throughout the year, we host a series of exciting family events that bring our community together and celebrate the diverse interests and talents of our students. Join us for our festive Halloween Boo Bash, be amazed by our STEAM Night, where science, technology, engineering, arts, and math take center stage, and embrace the rich tapestry of cultures at our Multicultural Night, a vibrant celebration of diversity and inclusivity. At the end of the year, we enjoy Carnival, a fun and exciting extravaganza that marks the start of summer vacation. By engaging families in these celebrations, we create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and connected. Join us!
